Presence

2026.

In my work, I explore the relationship between matter, light, and space, creating visual structures that invite focus, presence, and deeper understanding. I seek to create a sense of clarity and stillness, and to encourage subtle transformation, opening a space for a quiet inner shift within the viewer.
Presence raises the question of where we are truly present—in our thoughts and in our lives. Are we emotionally dwelling in the past, which has already passed and therefore no longer exists, or are we projecting ourselves into the future, which has not yet arrived and therefore does not exist either? Are we aware that the only time we truly have is the present moment?
Here and now is the only place where life unfolds, the field of genuine creativity—the eternal present. May the exhibition Presence be an invitation to all of us to live consciously, to inhabit the state of presence in which alone we can truly live and create.

Lidija draws us into a sophisticated world of abstract, associative imagery dominated by golden tones. Gold is an essential element in her work: a distinctive expression of her artistic sensibility and a reflection of the vibration of life itself. It is also a symbol of the Sun, harmony, power, and warmth. The dynamic textures of her paintings create a sense of three-dimensionality, reinforcing themes of freedom and liberation, awareness and presence.
The search for light—not merely as physical illumination, but as a spiritual presence—can be seen in the part of the exhibition featuring paintings whose intricate, carefully considered linear structures, variations of fluid abstract forms, and processes of multiplication and reduction offer new perspectives on spatial and temporal articulation. Through patiently constructed compositions, Lidija raises universal questions.
